Nielsen Technical Services owner Chris Nielsen has decided to auction off their domain, wi-fi.biz at Namepros.com. He has placed a starting bid of only $10 and a "Buy It Now" or BIN price of $275. While the economy has slowed in general, high tech domain names are still popular and commanding prices somewhat higher than domains on other topics. Any company that provides WI-FI networking services and needs a short descriptive domain should be very interested in the domain at this pricing level.

"This is a good domain and we think it's priced right. The low starting bid price is designed to get domainers and other investors interested and make sure we sell the domain. Someone could walk away with a great deal.", said Nielsen. "While the .biz TLD is not overly popular, all the other TLDs are taken. And the domain contains a hyphen which tends to lower domain value in general, but with wi-fi most people that search for the term use a hyphen and that is the most common spelling. In this case, the hyphen should help the value or at least not detract from it."

There a couple of common terms that are used to describe the process of reproducing or making copies of CDs, CD replication and CD duplication. Each has its pros and cons. But first, a quick discussion on the difference between the two cd manufacturing processes.

CD duplication is a process where data from one CD is burned or recorded onto another CD. In other words, data such as MP3 files, video files, or Word documents can be easily added or changed if a CDR is used. This can be done from any personal computer or laptop computer hardware using CD burning software.

However, the process of CD duplication is slower, as only one CD can be duplicated at a one time unless a number of CD burners are used. For label printing, you can buy your own CD labels and print them out on any ink jet or laser jet printer. Keep in mind that you may need to get a computer memory upgrade to make good quality copies.

However, if you need to reproduce CDs in high volume, you are better off hiring the professionals and use cheap CD replication and silk screening techniques to create high quality copies for you at a much lower cost.

Net Radio Offers Local Indie Music

Local Independent Music Finds Home on Internet Radio

Internet Broadcasting Group and Affordable Sound Join Forces to Form Affordable Sound Radio Online.

Austin, TX, September 13, 2008 -- Local musicians unable to get airplay on Austin's commercially owned radio stations will find respite in Affordable Sound Radio Online, launching September 1, 2008. The radio station which will be available online at AffordableSound.FM, will specialize in playing artists that aren't heard on any other station.

While commercial radio is losing revenue and listenership every quarter, internet radio is growing at exponential rates. Internet Broadcasting Group and Affordable Sound will work together to create a station that is "thoroughly listenable, engaging and entertaining," said Affordable Sound co-owner Mike Marquardt. Affordable Sounds specializes in high volume CD duplication, artist posters and collateral and music distribution. The company which has traditionally provided artists with exposure through compilation CD's and events, sees internet radio as a new and highly viable venue to promote local artists.
